Employment News
I've just gotten notification that I have been accepted as a translator—of movie subtitles! Next week I have a job for the Quality Control arm of the company, checking someone else's translation. Starting this month, I will also be getting assignments to translate full-length studio films. Imagine how proud my mom will be when she sits to the end of the titles, and it'll say "Translated by" — SQUEEEEEE! Plus, hell of a fun way to make money. Still work, but I can do it in my jammies, and you all know, I like to do things in my jammies! YAY!

Onneksi olkoon !!!! I am proud of you, too :)
That's surely a job I would take at any moment without hesitation!
Congratulations!!
I'm also sure the paycheck is nice :)
Thanks! In the beginning, the paycheck isn't too big, and I'll get paid on a per job basis, but it's great to have that additional income, and to be able to schedule the work at whichever hour of the day.
Katja - congratulations on YOUR new job as well, that is such great news! Although, you have told this new job that you absolutely have to come visit your Pennsylvanian roots this summer, right? (^.~)/
congratulations to everyone!
I should check to see if corrie posted on his blog about his job. ^^
I'm next darnit!
Oooh, congratulations! (I say you sneak in some double-entendre translations, just for kicks.)
Heheh, unfortunately they have "quality control" so another Finn will get me busted if I try - unless of course I can remotely justify it. Great idea! heheheh.
Hi daughter. You know we have already stayed until the end of all texts just to rehearse because we knew that some day your name will be there. Maybe even as the first...! Tons of Kong Rats.
You just want your souvenir from Kyoto :)
We'll see, I haven't decided anything about my summer holiday. (Did I mention, that I did GET a 4-week summer holiday from the new place !!!)
Thanks, Daddy :) I did miss a call from LA on Saturday, so maybe that was Spielberg, and you'll indeed see my name first on the list. I sure wouldn't mind.
Katja - I am excited about the souvenir from Kyoto, but most of all I just want my Katja here. A summer without my Kitty isn't much of a summer at all. 4WKS! Wow, that's amazing. So I'm pencilling here in my calendar.... "Katja comes for 3 wks".... heheheheh. Seriously, I know there's other places and family and friends you need to visit too, but I miss you.
YAY!! Congratulations!
That is AWESOME!
They still are not talking to me at work. I am such an outcast...
They're jerks. Here's some fake Latin for you: "Noli te bastardes carborundorum", or "Don't let the bastards grind you down." It's their loss, if they don'ttalk to you — they're missing out on the wonderfulness that is you. Don't worry, in a few weeks you'll be at your new job and you won't have to deal with these jerks anymore.
I know. I completely understand, why they are so upset; when I leave, they simply do not have enough IATA-points to EVEN write flight tickets ! And it is just two persons, who are behaving childishly. "The little monkeys" are ok and I'm going to miss them terribly...
