Do you EVER sleep??
Umm, me neither --
Just finished Looking for Lovedu by Ann Jones. The part about (then) Zaire -- harrowing!
Suddenly I got it: Lumumba wins election. He starts talking about Africa belongs to Africans. So the world Bank winks at the CIA. Eisenhower agrees. Assassination. Then Mugabe begins to starve the people to keep them from rebelling. They start eating chimpanzees. World gets HIV. Blames gays.
Now it's 2 am and I'm lying here bug-eyed with my laptop on my belly. Oy!
No, I never sleep :) I've decided to stop reading disturbing stuff for a while... Oryx and Crake is scaring the life out of me, and the world news combined, I'm slipping into despair. Snoopy has a point, only reading books about bunny rabbits...
Well, THAT's no help, the bunny hides under a basket or whatever and the cat settles on top of it, waiting -- waiting --
I am seriously going to take 2 naps today. And dream of books about turtles.
Hei, never mind, the dog(s) has it right. Anyways. That is the essence of happiness.
