Where In the World Are You?

I saw this on Ruthless Ninja Assassin, so of course I wanted one too! So, lemme know where you are, won't you?

Folks, I changed the date on this (original was 1-31-07 4:10 AM)
I want to keep it on top for a while, to avoid needless scrolling.

I'm afraid the Anon from Budapest is the same as me as I'm very close to Budapest. This map is fantastic.

Isn't it! I'm so excited it said "Suomi - Finland" not just Finland (Suomi being our country's name in Finnish).

For most countries there are the original names as far as I see. Not for Magyarország, unfortunately, but I guess that is b/c that is so long it would not fit.

"Oh wow, Chris, that's cool! When I wake up, I am SOOOO stealing it. You'd better come add yourself to mine, or I'll love you less (a frightening threat, I know)."

This is the post Anniina left for me on my blog. Can you believe this? After all we've been through, after all we have done, after the laughter and the tears, after all the late nights of holding each other close and sharing secrets we've never told anyone else, she would be so ready to take her love away just for the sake of a new face on her map? Is that all I mean to her? How could she be so cold??

I must admit, she played me from the very start. All she had to do was find an overweight, nerdy Kentuckian with a secret ninja identity who likes to write about sci-fi and has a deep, lustful attraction for cute, blond, artistic, expatriated Finnish women who now reside in Pennsylvania. Guys like that are a dime a dozen, and, in retrospect, it seems to me that she had me wrapped around her little Nordic finger from the very start. Her precious little Nordic finger...

[a pause for some patently unmanly ninja sobbing]

You know what, though? I don't care. I STILL LOVE HER, and I don't need some stupid Java script map to show me where my heart is. I'm going to sit here, in my bedroom, in my ninja underwear, with a sad little candle it, and I'm going to pick up my guitar and sing every song I can think of that reminds me of Finland and my wonderful little Suomi-neito: "Finland" by Monty Python, and every song ever recorded by Blues Section, Hanoi Rocks, and HIM (their version of "Wicked Game" is AWESOME!). And then I will probably put on some Darude, because ninjas love to get ninjiggy with it, even when our hearts are broken.

You know what? Screw this. I'm not going to site here in my bed with my black, silk pillowcase soaked with my mournful ninja tears and let the woman I love just slip away. Anniina means to much to me. To hell with these sad songs! Piru vieköön! I am NOT giving up on us! And if that means I have to ninja up and kill my way to Pennsylvania, or Finland, or to wherever else my inadequate American public education grasp of geography will take me, then so be it. NOTHING is going to stand between me and my woman. I love you, Anniina! I'm coming for ya, baby!

*hysterical laughter*
Chris you KILL ME! HEHEHEHEHEHEHE!

For those of you who don't know, I've known Chris for what... a month or two, because I've been lurking at "Sci-Fi Guys", where I ended up due to a feature they did on "Firefly". So all of you other ninjas and people madly in love with me (see, I can do comedy!) do not lose heart :P

HEHEHEHHEHEHE. Chris, you ruthless ninja, I hereby award you....
*drum roll..... ..... .....*

THE AWARD FOR THE BEST COMMENT YET!

And thank you for this excellent gift - I must have lost 5 pounds in laughter-exercise. Yes, you are quite crazily adorable! And. I am madly impressed at all the Finnish language and Finland references. Plus, you may have found my Achilles' heel: I am weak for Monty Python's "Finland, Finland, Finlaaaaaand."

Tee-hee!

P.S. So I'll expect you on Monday?

BEST COMMENT YET!

YES!! I humbly accept this award, and I would like to thank all the little people: midgets, dwarves, primordial dwarves, Munchkins, leprechauns, gnomes, Danny DeVito, Tom Cruise, and Spike Lee. And because I am so plesed to have won this award, I will now serenade you and everyone on your blog...

"Pony trekking or camping,
or just watching TV;
Finland, Finland, Finland,
it's the country for me.

You're so near to Russia,
so far from Japan,
quite a long way from Cairo,
lots of miles from Vietnam..."

Oh, and just to be clear, my comment about Luminarium was a joke. I'm dense, but not quite that dense. :)

Thank you for the serenade! I think you're the first person to sing on this blog... If I'm wrong, I hope the person who sang before will remind me. There's too little singing in the world :)

Everyone who has added their location so far:

Thank you!

It's so much fun to see it literally represented, that we may never have met, but there we are, together in pixels. And such wonderful surprises, too - I never knew this blog had visitors from so many places. Welcome, I hope you come back sometime :)
