          Three years I've waited—
          Suddenly you bloom,
          Quite taking my breath away.

The pre-dawn silence
Fades into a hundred songs.
How I miss your voice.

I think of you while the spring
Sun gilds this park bench
And birds sing in the distance;
Countries removed, yet
How close you are in my heart.

Birdsong in the dark.
Suddenly the mist rises,
I think of your voice.
